Alinghi si congratula con Emirates Team New Zealand per il successo

[singlepic=1724,250,170,,left]Louis Vuitton Pacific Series – Auckland – Alinghi, il Defender della 33a America’s Cup, fa i suoi complimenti a Emirates Team New Zealand per la vittoria odierna nella prima edizione delle Louis Vuitton Pacific Series Cup ad Auckland, in Nuova Zelanda. Alinghi aveva vinto la prima regata della serie prevista al meglio delle 5 prove, ma ETNZ si è poi aggiudicato le tre successive conquistando così la LVPS Cup. L’evento ha rappresentato una grande opportunità di ritornare a regatare ad altissimo livello considerato il parterre gli equipaggi presenti ad Auckland per l’occasione, la maggior parte dei quali sono challenger della 33a America’s Cup.

Il prossimo impegno per questi team iscritti alla 33a America’s Cup, saranno le pre regate in programma a luglio e a ottobre di quest’anno, alle quali seguirà, nel mese di novembre, l’Annual Regatta organizzata dal Challenger of Record spagnolo.

“Questo appena concluso è stato un grande evento, nel corso del quale ci siamo divertiti, dove abbiamo trovato avversari molto preparati in acqua e un’atmosfera meravigliosa a terra – ha detto Brad Butterworth, skipper e tattico di Alinghi – Siamo impazienti ora di concentrarci sulla prossima America’s Cup che, nel suo tradizionale formato multichallenge, comincerà a Valencia quest’anno con le preregate, per avere poi il suo culmine nel 2010 con il match tra il Defender e il Challenger ufficiale”.

Emirates Team New Zealand è uno dei challenger più preparati tra gli iscritti alla 33a America’s Cup.
“Non ci sono dubbi su questo – ha affermato Butterworth, aggiungendo subito dopo – Sono un team molto forte e siamo impazienti di incontrarli ancora nella prossima regata, speriamo naturalmente sulla strada della 33a America’s Cup. Qui ad Auckland, insieme a Louis Vuitton hanno organizzato e gestito un evento veramente di alto livello.”

[Alinghi Press Release] Alinghi, defender of the 33rd America’s Cup, congratulates Emirates Team New Zealand on winning the inaugural Louis Vuitton Pacific Series Cup in Auckland, New Zealand today. Alinghi won the first match of the best of five series, but ETNZ took the next three to claim the LVPS Cup. The event has been a great opportunity to get back to some racing and the caliber of the teams – most of them 33rd America’s Cup challengers – has been high for the three week event on the Waitemata.

Next for these 33rd America’s Cup teams are the pre-regattas scheduled for July and October this year, followed by the Spanish Challenger of Record’s annual regatta in November. “This has been a great fun event, with hard competition on the water and a great atmosphere ashore,” said Brad Butterworth, team skipper and four-time America’s Cup winning tactician. “We look forward to getting on with the multi-challenge America’s Cup now in Valencia, starting in July this year and culminating in 2010 with the 33rd America’s Cup Match.”

Emirates Team New Zealand remains one of the most powerful challengers entered in the 33rd Cup: “There is no doubt, they are a very strong team and we look forward to our next match with them – hopefully in the lead up to the 33rd America’s Cup. They have managed and run a very good event here in Auckland alongside Louis Vuitton,” said Butterworth.
