Vendée Globe, Le Cam ha dato un segno di vita

[singlepic=1278,250,170,,left]Vendée Globe – Oceano Pacifico – Vincent Riou, skipper di PRB, si è avvicinato a VM Materiaux, ribaltato in pieno Oceano Pacifico, e dopo aver notato una piccola bandiera appesa ad uno dei passauomo di prua, ha gridato per accertare la presenza di Jean Le Cam che ha immediatamente risposto nello stesso modo.
La poppa dell’IMOCA 60, dove è posizionato l’unico passauomo utilizzabiole per abbandonare l’unità in caso di ribaltamento, è completamente immersa sott’acqua e Riou ha confermato che VM Materiaux è privo del bulbo.
Verso la zona dell’incidente si sta dirigendo un rimorchiatore della Marina cilena. Partito alle 12.30 GMT, sarà sulle coordinate di Le Cam alle 06.30 GMT di domani mattina. L’unità è attrezzata per salvataggi in alto mare: a bordo è presente una squadra di sommozzatori.

CONTACT MADE WITH LE CAM
[Vendée Globe Press Release] At 14.21 GMT Vincent Riou on PRB arrived at the scene of VM Matériaux’s capsize. Riou reported that he found the yacht floating upside down, missing its keel bulb, but a small ‘flag’ was visible at one of the through-hull fittings on the bow of the upturned yacht. Riou shouted for Le Cam and heard a response from the French skipper inside the capsized boat. The stern of VM Matériaux, where there is an emergency escape hatch, is underwater.
A Chilean naval tug has also been sent to aid the rescue effort. The tug left Puerto Williams at 12.30 GMT and is due to reach the area tomorrow morning at 06.30 GMT. The tug is equipped with a RIB and divers to assist in recovering the skipper.

VENDEE GLOBE, JEAN LE CAM A DONNE’ SIGNE DE VIE
[Vendée Globe Press Release] Le skipper de PRB s’est approché du monocoque retourné et a d’abord constaté qu’il y avait un petit pavillon qui sortait par un des passe-coques à l’avant du bateau. Vincent a alors crié pour s’enquérir de la présence de son ami et Jean lui a répondu par un cri!
L’arrière de VM Matériaux, là où se trouve le sas de sortie en cas de chavirage, est immergé dans l’eau et Vincent a signalé que le bateau n’avait plus de bulbe.
Par ailleurs, un remorqueur de la marine chilienne est parti à 13h30 heure française de Puerto Williams et sera sur zone à 7h30 mercredi matin. Ce remorqueur est équipé d’un semi-rigide et de plongeurs.
