Il VOR 70 di Torben Grael, leader indiscusso della Volvo Ocean Race, è stato accompagnato fin sul traguardo dai venti tesi che hanno caratterizzato le ultime giornate di navigazione e ha completato la settima tappa in 7 giorni, 10 ore e 33 minuti.

Ericsson 4, oltre a festeggiare un nuovo successo di tappa, si appresta ad allungare il passo su Telefonica Blue che nelle fasi di avvicinamento all’Irlanda ha perso alcune posizioni.

Sul traguardo sono ora attesi Il Mostro e Green Dragon, che si appresta a conseguire la miglior performance proprio nelle acque di casa. Ricordiamo che lo scafo di Ian Walker ha regatato sotto il controllo dei partecipanti al Volvo Ocean Race Game, che ne hanno definito il cammino rispondendo ai sondaggi che il navigatore Wouter Verbraak ha postato quotidianamente sul portale della regata virtuale.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE, ERICSSON 4 FIRST IN GALWAY
Volvo Ocean Race – Galway – Ericsson 4 has won their second consecutive leg, crossing the finish line in Galway Bay at 00.54 GMT on Sunday morning. The boat should be dockside within about 45 minutes. Their elapsed time for the leg is 07 days, 10 hours 33 minutes.

Puma is 21 miles from the finish, making 20 knots, with Green Dragon and Telefonica Blue pushing hard from close behind.
