ARC 2008, Matelot in fuga a cinquecento miglia dall’arrivo

Atlantic Rally for Cruisers – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – Quando mancano meno di cinquecento miglia al traguardo di St. Lucia, la ARC 2008 pare aver trovato nel Southern Wind 80 Matelot il suo leader indiscusso.
Il ventiquattro metri di Bruce Dingwall, infatti, spinto da venti di nordest, guida la flotta verso il Caribe con un vantaggio di quasi centoquaranta miglia sull’Oyster 82 Sundowner di Lurelle Verplank e di duecento esatte sullo Swan 82 DreamCatcher KM di Karsten Moller.
Nel corso degli ultimi giorni è scivolato in quarta posizione Silandra V, lo Swan 76 di Gianluca Braggiotti che nel corso della prima settimana di gara aveva guidato la flotta con piglio autoritario.
Viste le percorrenze medie delle ultime ore, i primi sono attesi a St. Lucia all’alba di lunedì prossimo.

ARC 2008, MATELOT LEADS WITH BIG ADVANTAGE
Atlantic Rally for Cruisers – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – After twelve days at sea, the ARC 2008 found its leader in Matelot. Bruce Dingwall’s Southern Wind 80 leads the fleet with more than 130 nautical miles of advantage towards St. Lucia, far less than 500 nautical miles.
Second and third place are defended by Lurelle Verplank’s Oyster 82 Sundowner and by Karsten Moller’s Swan 82 DreamCatcher KM.
First days leader, Silandra V, is now in fourth position. Gialuca Braggiotti’s Swan 76 is 240 nautical miles behind Matelot.
The arrivals of the leading group is expected for monday morning.
