Vela e multiscafi – Ecublens – E’ stato presentato ufficialmente questa mattina il nuovissimo Hydroptere.ch. Costruito presso il cantiere Decision, lo stesso che ha curato la realizzazione dei vari Alinghi, il nuovo multiscafo volante di Alain Thébault ha richiesto due anni di sviluppo e tempi di assemblaggio piuttosto brevi. La struttura portate è infatti stata assemblata solo un mese fa.
L’avveniristico multiscafo è stato costruito con l’obiettivo di ritoccare i numerosi primati stabiliti dal suo illustre predecessore, protagonista anche di una scuffia passata alla storia della vela.
Ora l’attenzione del design team si sposta sui test strutturali da eseguire nel corso delle prime uscite per verificare la tenuta della struttura e la rispondenza dei carichi del piano velico ai dati forniti dai computer nel corso delle simulazioni: “Si avvicina il momento della verità – ha sottolineato Robin Amacher – Ci saranno senza dubbio lavori da fare e cose da sistemare, come sempre capita quando vari un prototipo, ma speriamo di vederla volare presto”.
SAILING AND MULTIHULL, HYDROPTERE.CH READY FOR THE LAUNCH
[Source Hydroptere.com] In midsummer, the Hydroptère team in Switzerland is working hard to prepare the launching of l’Hydroptère.ch. This new flying sailboat is about to be finished and will be officially presented to the press on Monday 23rd August at the Decision shipyard in Ecublens, Switzerland.
After two years of development, the main structure of l’Hydroptère.ch was assembled two weeks ago. The rigging and fitting will be installed before the end of the summer. The engineers of the Design Team, assisted by Bertrand Cardis’ collaborators are now focusing on the structural integrity of the boat and on the implementation of the measurement system.
l’Hydroptère.ch is a very high-tech prototype, with many innovations that the engineers of the Hydroptère team are looking forward to testing on the water. These innovations have been developed by the Design Team and the suppliers who work together on this project. “This is a kind of moment of truth”, tells Robin Amacher, “there will obviously be adjustments to do as on any prototype, but we are looking forward to seeing her fly!“.
