Gargnano – It is all set in Gargnano, Western shore of the Garda Lake, for the fifth act of the Cetilar Sailing Series – M32 European Series, whose dates and location coincide with one of the most famous regattas of the Italian Lake Garda, the “50 Miglia, Gorla Trophy”, that will take place on Sunday the 2nd of September.
A fleet of four M32 cats, representing four Countries, gathered in “Circolo Vela Gargnano” to compete in the penultimate act of the season and to move further steps in the overall leaderboard, to discover who will be the winner of the 2018 edition of the M32 European Series.
Andrea Lacorte, with his Vitamina Veloce from Italy, in Gargnano will try to defend the leadership gained in the previous events from the attacks of the English GAC Pindar by Ian Williams, that follows in second place in the overall ranking with a gap of 4 points.
On the starting line of Garda Lake, together with the already named Vitamina Veloce and GAC Pindar, there will be the Swedish entry Vikings by Hakan Svensson and Shark Team by Guido Maini from Monaco.
Races were supposed to start today, but the typical southern wind of Garda Lake didn’t fill in as expected and forced the Race Committee, chaired by PRO Mattias Dahlstrom, to send the fleet back to the moorings, ending the day with a no wind, no race.
The appointment is then set for tomorrow, when the Race Committee will try to benefit from the early morning Peler wind to conclude the first races of the series on Garda Lake, under the eyes of hundreds of spectators already gathered in Gargano for the upcoming “50 Miglia” and “Centomiglia”, ready to be amazed by the speed and the action of the M32 regattas.
