Kristiansand – In the beauty and warmth of the early nordic summer, the M32 fleet had the usual tight fight just out of the breakwater of the Kristiansand Seilforening.
Beautiful condition are persisting along this 2018 Sailing Series – M32 European Series.
From Valencia, passing trough Marina di Pisa and to here in Norway, the sunshine and super beautiful sailing conditions have been constantly present.
The M32 have showed all their speed and power to the local public watching from shore and to the big Melges24 fleet sailing, not far from the M32 race course, their Nordic Championship.
8 to 12 knots on nice and warm breeze filled up the fjiord, offering an interesting race course made more difficult with the changing current.
All the seven races scheduled for today have been concluded with the top three boats in a bunch of points.
Gac Pindar with the four time Match Racing world champion Ian Williams on board is leading the score board by two points in front of a very regular Section 16 skippered by Class President Richard Davies with Chris Rast calling tactics. In third place Vitamina Veloce skippered by Andrea Lacorte just five points behind.
A nice Pizza Party under the big tend welcome back the teams on shore, good beer and good music to warm up and already heated (by the super mild weather) evening with a nice atmosphere and so many sailors around.
Tomorrow racing hour will be same as today at 1:00 pm as set by PRO Mattias Dahlstrom, the forecast is bit lighter but still the locals are confident that sooner or later the sea breeze will be filling in the fjord.
