Talamone – Section 16 (Davies-Rast, 3-9) is fit enough for the Worlds, infact the team has dominated the third act of the Sailing Series® Melges 20 confirming itself as one of the toughest teams to be beaten at the next Worlds in Scarlino 24-28 August.
The team has lead from day 1, skillfully managing the relevant gap over Stig that today has expresssed itself to its best (Rombelli-Weiller, 1-4) already on podium in Porto Ercole
“We have experienced a perfect week: as usual Chris Rast, has given his best despite the injured hand and Manuel Modena has lead me to the smooth conduction of the boat and the result has been just easy and perfect – said Richard Davies’ Section 16 owner after the prize giving – Before concentrating on the Worlds in Scarlino where we are looking forward to competing against a challenging fleet, we would like to give our best in this series that is becoming more and more competitive.”
After the conclusion of the 8 races, managed by the local Circolo della Vela Talamone, in cooperation with B.Plan Sport&Events and Melges Europe, partials had to come into play to solve the same point scoring between Pacific Yankee (Freides-Reeser, 13-6) and MON-081 (Agusta-Zandonà, 11-33), both standing at 60 points, just one point margin over Pinta (Illbruck-Kostecki, 10-1), winner of race 8.
As already said by Richard Davies, the next Act of the Sailing Series® Melges 20 will be taking place in Riva del Garda 1-3 July, always on the Benaco the week after it will be the time for the Melges 32 European Championship.
