Melges 24 World Championship – Corpus Christi – E’ da oggi possibile iscriversi al Mondiale Melges 24 2011. Per farlo basta accedere al sito della manifestazione – Melges Worlds – e compilare il modulo di pre registrazione che il Comitato Organizzatore ha linkato alla home page.
Il Mondiale 2011 si svolgerà a Corpus Christi, in Texas, tra l’11 e il 21 maggio prossimi. La sede scelta per lo svolgimento della rassegna iridata è famosa per i venti impetuosi e per le straordinarie condizioni meteo che caratterizzano gran parte dell’anno.
La Classe Internazionale attende un grande successo in fatto di iscrizioni. Sono infatti giunte richieste dal Nord America, dall’Europa, dall’Asia e dell’Australia. Un interesse che ha spinto gli organizzatori a creare un circuito di avvicinamento al Mondiale. Tra gli eventi che ne faranno parte ci saranno la Key West Race Week (17-21 gennaio), la Miami Winter Regatta (12-13 febbraio), la Bacardi Miami Sailing Week (10-12 marzo) e la Cahrleston Race Week (14-17 aprile).
Come sempre il main event sarà preceduto da una serie di regate di prova, in programma a Corpus Christi tra il 30 aprile e l’1 maggio.

[Melges 24 International Class Press Release] Online registration for the 2011 Melges 24 World Championship being hosted by Corpus Christi Yacht Club, Corpus Christi, Texas from May 11-21, is now open via the Event Website. Famed for its great sunshine and strong winds Corpus Christi is the perfect Melges 24 sailing venue and the fleet is looking forward to a big turnout for this it’s 14th World Championship, including entries from across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
In the build up to the World Championship the United States Melges 24 Class Association is planning a series of events under the “Road To Corpus” banner. The series comprises:
Key West Race Week – January 17-21 – Key West, Florida
Miami Winter Regatta – February 12-13 – Coconut Grove SC, Miami, Florida
Bacardi Miami Sailing Week – March 10-12 – Miami, Florida
Charleston Race Week – April 14-17 – Charleston, South Carolina
2011 Melges 24 World Championship – May 11-21 – Corpus Christi YC, Texas
In addition Sail 22 will be running two tuning events in the run up to the Worlds, the first in Miami on February 10-11 and the second on Corpus Christi on April 30- May 1. Further details about the Road To Corpus events can be found at www.usmelges24.com.
