NY to BCN, a new race is born

New York – A.S.O. is proud to present you The Ocean Masters New York to Barcelona Race.

This is the first double handed 60 feet boats race of the newly branded IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championship (the world’s leading offshore racing class in terms of numbers of teams, skippers and sponsors). Please find attached a presentation of the event that will start the 1st of June with in the line-up Hugo Boss formed by British solo offshore racing legend Alex Thomson and co-skipper Pepe Ribes.

During the New York-Barcelona race, skippers will link two iconic cities and visit the amazing venues of Newport and Rhode Island before racing across the Atlantic from New York to Barcelona in Spain. They will try to improve the 12 days, 6 hours and 3 minutes record of crossing of 2010.

A strong international line up will be on departure with ten skippers of five different nationalities including Hugo Boss, Neutrogena and Safran crews. This exceptional sailing event will be the best preparation for the teams competing this fall in the Route du Rhum and the Barcelona World Race.

No doubt that with the presence of one media man on each boat, some fantastic footage will be brought during the race. You will find below a link of the race teaser (and FTP access) that you will be able to use without any restriction (non-exclusive internet rights to broadcast the teaser on a non-linear basis to be aired solely on your own website).
