52 Super Series, a good day for Ran Racing and Bronenosec Gazprom in Porto Cervo

Porto Cervo – With still two days to the end, Bronenosec Gazprom (Liubomirov-Ivaldi, 3-4) is in full fight for a prestigious results in the Audi Settimana delle Bocche, event valid as second appointment of the 52 Super Series circuit.

Today, thanks to a good breeze coming from South-Easterly, the Race Committee sent in archives two more races, a short coastal and a windward-leeward. Two races well sailed by the Vladimir Liubomirov’s team that, with a third and a fourth, has closed the gap respect to the high ranking crews and is now just four points far from Azzurra (Parada-Vascotto, 4-6) third force of the ranking close to Ran Racing (Zennstrom-Larson, 2-2), second, and Quantum Racing (Baird-Hutchinson, 6-1), confirmed as leader. Fourth is Provezza (Imre-Beadsworth, 1-8), first leader of the event.

“It was a good day for us, we were the second boat of the fleet, tied with Quantum Racing. In the coastal race we went out not so bad from the line and we round the top mark in third position, defending our place despite some tricky conditions on the run. Second race was really tight: unfortunately we lost one position on the second beat. At the end, looking at the standings, it was really a good day” Bronenosec Gazprom‘s strategist Adrian Stead explained once on the dock.

The Audi Settimana delle Bocche will resume tomorrow around noon, with at least two other windward-leeward races.

In Porto Cervo, Bronenosec Gazprom, the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club bearer hull, is sailed by Vladimir Liubomirov (owner-driver), Michele Ivaldi (skipper-tactician), Adrian Stead (strategist), Francesco Mongelli (navigator), Victor Serezhkin (backstay), Paul Westlake (mainsail trimmer), Claudio Celon (trimmer), Zack Hurst (trimmer), Emanuele Marino (grinder), Pietro Mantovani (grinder), Andy Fethers (pitman), Alex Kulakov (floater), Michele Cannoni (mid-bow) and Alberto Barovier (team manager-bowman). The team activity is coordinated by the coach Francesco de Angelis while the shore team leader is Francesco Binetti Pozzi.
