America’s Cup, SNG rinnova l’invito al dialogo

[singlepic=2425,300,204,,left]America’s Cup – Ginevra – A poche ore dal rifiuto del Golden Gate Yacht Club e BMW Oracle Racing ad incontrare Alinghi e la Société Nautique de Genève, il defender si è detto dispiaciuto per la posizione assunta dal team statunitense. Sul sito internet di Alinghi è stato pubblicato un breve comunicato, che di seguito trovate tradotto:
“Lo yacht club defender della 33ma America’s Cup, la Société Nautique de Genève, è dispiaciuta che il Challenger of Record, il Golden Gate Yacht Club, abbiano respinto l’invito per riprendere il dialogo riguardante la 33ma America’s Cup. Sembra inoltre che lo stesso abbia chiuso le porte ad altri sfidanti, usando la sua recente azione legale per respingere la sfida lanciata dagli italiani di Green Comm Challenge.
Nella lettera spedita il 5 maggio, la Société Nautique de Genève aveva invitato il Golden Gate Yacht Club a un ulteriore incontro per continuare a confrontarsi su argomenti quali la data, la località, la partecipazione di altri sfidanti e la presentazione del certificato di stazza della barca. Con sconcerto la Société Nautique de Genève deve rilevare che il Golden Gate Yacht Club ha risposto ricordando semplicemente al defender la data della prossima udienza, fissata per il 14 maggio a New York.
La Société Nautique de Genève ha comunque intenzione di rinnovare il suo appello al Golden Gate Yacht Club affinchè la sua rappresentativa si sieda attorno a un tavolo per discutere faccia a faccia di questi argomenti. L’invito a negoziare rimane valido”.

[Alinghi Press Release] The 33rd America’s Cup defending yacht club, Société Nautique de Genève (SNG), regrets that the Challenger of Record, the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC), rejected an invitation to resume talks on terms for the 33rd America’s Cup. It also appears to have closed the door to other teams using its latest legal action to disregard Italian team Green Comm‘s challenge.
In a letter sent on 5 May, the SNG invited the GGYC to meet to continue discussions, including such areas as the date, the venue, the race format, the participation of other challengers and the presentation of the Custom-House Registry of vessel. To the SNG’s disappointment, the GGYC responded simply by reminding the defending yacht club of the court hearing scheduled for the 14 May in New York.
The SNG plans to persevere with its appeal to GGYC to join its representatives around a table to discuss these matters face to face. The invitation to negotiate remains open.
