America’s Cup, ricevuta la quinta sfida

America’s Cup – Valencia – A distanza di oltre un mese dall’apertura delle iscrizioni alla 34ma Amerca’s Cup, il management dell’America’s Cup Race Management ha reso noto poche ora fa di aver ricevuto la quinta sfida ufficiale. Strettissimo il riserbo sul nome dello sfidante che, ha sottolineato l’organizzazione, verrà reso noto nelle settimane a venire.
Ricordiamo che sin dalle prime ore seguenti l’apertura delle iscrizioni, il CEO dell’America’s Cup Race Management, Iain Murray, comunicò l’esistenza di quattro sfidanti ufficiali ma si limitò a fare i nomi di BMW Oracle Racing e Mascalzone Latino Audi Team. Dopo qualche settimana è stata ufficializzata la sfida di Artemis Racing mentre resta ancora ignota l’identità del quarto sfidante.
“Sulle ali dell’entusiasmo generato dall’accordo raggiunto con Louis Vuitton siamo davvero lieti di annunciare un’altra importante novità, ovvero la conferma della presentazione di una quinta sfida” ha dichiarato Iain Murray, CEO dell’America’s Cup Race Management.
La data ultima per potersi iscrivere all’America’s Cup è il 31 marzo 2011.
AMERICA’S CUP, FIFTH ENTRY RECEIVED
[Source 34th America’s Cup] Event organizers today confirmed the receipt of the fifth entry for the 34th America’s Cup in 2013. The official announcement by the team is expected in the coming weeks.
“On the heels of our first major partnership in Louis Vuitton, we’re extremely pleased to make another significant announcement today in the confirmation of our fifth team,” said Iain Murray, Regatta Director for the 34th America’s Cup and CEO of America’s Cup Race Management.

In addition, America’s Cup Race Management is transforming the on-the-water experience through the introduction of elements that will deliver unparalled racing competition, including new course formats, racing rules and the wing-sailinged AC72 catamaran, a groundbreaking new boat design.

The entry period for the 34th America’s Cup runs November 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011.
