America’s Cup, pronta la replica della Société Nautique de Genève

America’s Cup – Le Bouveret – A distanza di un paio d’ore dall’annuncio da parte di BMW Oracle Racing di aver avviato una nuova azione legale contro Alinghi e la Société Nautique de Genève, giunge in redazione la replica di Alinghi:

“E’ ancora una volta con dispiacere che dobbiamo rilevare come il Golden Gate Yacht Club continui a seguire la strada dello scontro legale invece di combattare per l’America’s Cup sull’acqua. E’ la quarta volta che il team statunitense si rivolge alla corte, questa volta con l’intenzione di impedire alla Société Nautique de Genève il diritto legittimo di utilizzare le regole del proprio yacht club – come previsto dal Deed of Gift – le regole dell’ISAF e le regulation nella loro interezza, come è stato nelle precedenti edizioni dell’America’s Cup e in ogni regata internazionale. Mentre il Golden Gate Yacht Club continua a mettere pressione sulla Société Nautique de Genève tramite la Corte di New York, la Société Nautique de Genève continua ad attendere da parte del Golden Gate Yacht Club la consegna del Custom House Registry nel tempo più breve possibile, così come stabilito dal Deed of Gift e dalla Corte di New York”.

[Alinghi Press Release] America’s Cup Defender, Société Nautique de Genève (SNG), statement in reaction to the latest Golden Gate Yacht Club legal action:

“It is again a disappointment that the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) chooses to pursue its litigious strategy instead of fighting for the America’s Cup on the water. It is now the fourth time the American team goes to court, this time in an attempt to prevent the SNG’s legitimate right to use its yacht club rules – as prescribed in the Deed of Gift – and the ISAF rules and regulations to their full extent, as it has been the case in previous editions of the America’s Cup and in any international regatta in the world. While GGYC continues to put pressure on the SNG through the New York courts, SNG continues to wait for the GGYC to provide their yacht’s Custom House Registry as soon as possible, as per the Deed of Gift and the New York court decisions”.
