[singlepic=2307,300,204,,left]America’s Cup – Ginevra – Immediata la replica del Golden Gate Yacht Club alla dichiarazione con la quale Alinghi ha comunicato di aver accettato la sfida sui multiscafi lanciata da BMW Oracle Racing nel luglio del 2007.
“Una delegazione del Golden Gate Yacht Club e del suo team, BMW Oracle Racing, si è incontrata a Ginevra con una delegazione di Alinghi.
La proposta del Golden Gate Yacht Club, portata avanti in modo chiaro e deciso per una Coppa America convenzionale pienamente competitiva, è stata respinta dalla Société Nautique de Genève, che ha insistito per un Deed of Gift match su maxi multiscafi .
La Société Nautique de Genève ha afermato che il Deed of Gift match contro il Golden Gate Yacht Club si dovrebbe svolgere nel maggio del 2010. Ciò è in spregio rispetto alla recente sentenza della Corte di New York, secondo la quale il Deed of Gift match dovrà svolgersi nel febbraio del 2010.
Il Golden Gate Yacht Club ha chiesto alla Société Nautique de Genève di mettere la propria posizione nero su bianco, e spera in un altro incontro con il club svizzero per definire i dettagli relativi al Deed of Gift match.

[Golden Gate Yacht Club Press Release] “A delegation from the Golden Gate Yacht Club and its team, BMW Oracle Racing, met in Geneva today with representatives of SNG/Alinghi.
Golden Gate Yacht Club’s clear and straight-forward proposals for a fully competitive, conventional America’s Cup in monohulls were rejected by Société Nautique de Genève, who insisted on a regatta in large multihulls under the Deed of Gift (“DoG”).
Société Nautique de Genève asserted that the Deed of Gift match with Golden Gate Yacht Club would take place in May 2010. This is in defiance of the recent decision and orders of the New York courts that the DoG match take place in February 2010.
Golden Gate Yacht Club has asked Société Nautique de Genève to put their position in writing, and hopes to have another meeting with Société Nautique de Genève soon to clarify issues related to the DoG match.
Golden Gate Yacht Club is disappointed that Société Nautique de Genève categorically rejected our proposals for a conventional regatta. Golden Gate Yacht Club will continue to negotiate in good faith as Challenger of Record to put the America’s Cup back on the water as soon as possible”.
