[singlepic id=4940 w=204 h=300 float=left]America’s Cup – New York – Dopo aver invitato i team a scendere in acqua il prossimo 8 febbraio, il giudice Shirley Kornreich ha comunicato al Golden Gate Yacht Club e alla Société Nautique de Genève che l’udienza relativa al “constructed in country” verrà dibattuta il prossimo 25 febbraio.
Il primo a commentare la notizia è stato Tom Ehman, portavoce del Golden Gate Yacht Club: “Avremmo preferito rimuovere il punto di domanda relativo alle vele di Alinghi 5 prima dello svolgimento del match valido per la 33ma America’s Cup. Dato che non siamo stati in grado di fargli sottoscriverel’accordo negoziato a Singapore, il modo migliore per risolvere la questione è che il nostro yacht, USA, batta Alinghi 5 sull’acqua. La prima regata è imminente. Con regimi di vento normali sappiamo di avere dalla nostra buone chance”.
AMERICA’S CUP, THE NEW YORK SUPREME COURT HAS SET A DATE
[Source Golden Gate Yacht Club] The New York Supreme Court has now set a date of February 25 to hear the “constructed in country” case over the American made sails to be used by Alinghi 5.
Team Alinghi is the Société Nautique de Geneve’s defender for the 33rd America’s Cup against Golden Gate Yacht Club’s team BMW Oracle Racing for the Match starting in Valencia on Monday.
“We would have preferred that the question mark over Alinghi’s sails had not become a question mark hanging over the result of the 33rd Match,” commented GGYC spokesman Tom Ehman.
The Deed of Gift, the ruling document of the America’s Cup, requires the competing yachts to be powered by sails and constructed in the country they represent.
“Since we have been unable to get them to sign the agreement negotiated in Singapore, the best way to resolve this issue is for our yacht USA to beat Alinghi 5 on the water,” added Ehman.
“Race 1 is imminent. With normal sailing breezes, we like our chances in the coming Match.”
