[singlepic id=4848 w=204 h=300 float=left]America’s Cup – Valencia – Il portavoce del Golden Gate Yacht Club, Tom Ehman, commenta la scelta di Alinghi di non sottoscrivere l’Accordo di Singapore dopo che il suo club aveva avanzato una nuova proposta in tal senso:
“Ancora una folta il defender si è rifiutato di sottoscrivere un accordo teso a risolvere le questioni ancora in sospeso riguardanti la 33ma America’s Cup e di garantire una competizione equa e competitiva. Lo scorso mercoledì abbiamo sottoscritto l’Accordo di Singapore, e la Federvela Internazionale ne è stata testimone. L’unica firma mancante era quella del defender, la Société Nautique de Genève/Alinghi. Domenica, il Golden Gate Yacht Club ha offerto al defender un’altra opportunità di sottoscrivere tale accordo, che era stato stilato dai consiglieri di Alinghi in fatto di regolamenti. Purtroppo, la scorsa notte il defender ha voltato ancora una volta le spalle a tale accordo e a uno dei capi saldi della Coppa America: il mutuo consenso”.
AMERICA’S CUP, TOM EHMAN’S STATEMENT
[Golden Gate Yacht Club Press Release] “Once again the Defender has walked away from the opportunity to resolve the litigation and all other issues surrounding the 33rd America’s Cup, and to assure a clean and fair competition on the water. Last Wednesday we signed the Singapore Agreement, and the governing body of our sport, ISAF, witnessed it. The only signature missing was that of the Defender, Société Nautique de Genève/Alinghi. On Sunday Golden Gate Yacht Club offered the Defender another chance to sign the Agreement, which had been drafted by Alinghi’s rules advisor. Regrettably, last night the Defender again turned their backs on the Agreement, and the Cup’s preeminent principle – mutual consent”.
