America’s Cup, dichiarazione di Tom Ehman

Ameroca’s Cup – Valencia – Tom Ehman, portavoce del Golden Gate yacht Club è intervenuto in merito alla decisione del giudice Shirley Kornreich, che ha invitato i team a scendere in acqua il prossimo 8 febbraio: “La Corte Suprema dello Stato di New York ha dichiarato oggi che, a causa dell’imponente numero di udienze previste, il dibattimento relativo al casp “constructed in country” non può essere accelerato. Per questo, sembra improbabile che un’udienza possa essere fissata prima dell’America’s Cup del prossimo 8 febbraio.

E’ un peccato che la legalità delle vele costruite negli Stati Uniti da Alinghi non possa essere stabilita prima del match. Tuttavia, si deciderà in seguito”.

[Source Golden Gate Yacht Club] The New York Supreme Court said today that, due to its busy schedule, the hearing on the “constructed-in-country” issue could not be expedited. Therefore, it appears unlikely that a hearing will take place before the America’s Cup match begins on February 8th.

It is unfortunate that the legality of Alinghi’s American-made sails probably will not be decided before the Match. However, it will be decided eventually.
