America’s Cup, dichiarazione della Société Nautique de Genève

[singlepic=76,300,204,,left]America’s Cup – Ginevra – Giunge in redazione la prima reazione di Alinghi e della Société Nautique de Genève in merito alla decisione della Corte Suprema dello Stato di New York che ha fissato per il febbraio del 2010 la da di svolgimento della 33ma America’s Cup:

“La Société Nautique de Genève e Alinghi accolgono la decisione del giudice Shirley Kornreich e confermano che la rispetteranno. Il defender della 33ma America’s Cup, inoltre, accoglie con favore la chiarezza che essa porta con sé. Ora sappiamo che l’America’s Cup avrà luogo nell’Emisfero Nord indipendentemente dalla data, che il giudice Kornreich ha dichiarato possono essere decise tramite mediazione. Nel caso non sia possibile mettersi d’accordo, Alinghi, in rappresentanza della Société Nautique de Genève, regaterà contro BMW Oracle Racing, in rappresentanza del Golden Gate Yacht Club, nel febbraio del 2010. Con un’altra importante decisione, il giudice Kornreich ha ordinato al Golden Gate Yacht Club di attenersi alle specifiche della loro sfida e ha disposto che il Challenger of Record consegni il Custom-House Registry il prima possibile”.

Nota del redattore: la scelta della locelità spetta al defender dell’America’s Cup e deve essere annunciata sei mesi prima della data fissata per il match.

AMERICA’S CUP, SOCIETE NAUTIQUE DE GENEVE STATEMENT
[Alinghi Press Release] Statement from the America’s Cup defending yacht club, Société Nautique de Genève (SNG), after the court hearing today regarding the date of the 33rd America’s Cup Match and the pending Golden Gate Yacht Club Custom-House Registry:

“Société Nautique de Genève and Alinghi welcome Justice Shirley Kornreich’s decision and confirm that it will be adhered to. The Defender of the 33rd America’s Cup also welcomes the clarity that it brings. We now know that the America’s Cup Match can take place in the Northern Hemisphere regardless of the date, which Justice Kornreich said can be agreed through mediation. In the event of no agreement being reached, Alinghi, representing the Société Nautique de Genève, will race BMW Oracle Racing, representing the Golden Gate Yacht Club, in February 2010. In another important decision, Justice Kornreich ordered the Golden Gate Yacht Club to stick to the specifications of their Notice of Challenge and instructed the Challenger of Record to provide the Custom-House Registry as soon as possible.”

Note to the Editor: The choice of venue is decided by the Defender of the America’s Cup and will be announced six months before the America’s Cup Match.
