America’s Cup, Alinghi sceglie ANSYS Engeneering Simulation Solutions

[singlepic id=2896 w=300 h=204 float=left]America’s Cup – Ginevra – Alinghi ha annunciato di aver raggiunto un accordo con ANSYS Engineering Simulation Solutions sulle basi del quali l’azienda specializzata nella realizzazione di software e tecnologie di simulazione sarà official supplier del defender nel corso della prossima campagna di Coppa America. Si tratta di un agreement che di fatto rinnova quello già sottoscritto in occasione della campagna valenciana.

“Il team ha già usato software ANSYS per lo sviluppo, il design e l’ottimizzazione di ogni aspetto dello yacht che ha vinto la campagna del 2007 – ha spiegato Kurt Jordan, ingegnere stutturalista di Alinghi – La vera battaglia comincia molto tempo prima della sfida vera e propria. Ogni decisione, come ad esempio una modifica al prototipo, va a incidere sulla nostra risorsa più preziosa: il tempo. Poter contare su software affidabili ci permette di avere un’idea di ciò che succederà con buon anticipo. E’ per questa ragione che abbiamo scelto ancora una volta ANSYS”.

[Source Alinghi] Alinghi welcomes ANSYS Engineering Simulation Solutions back as Official Supplier for the 33rd America’s Cup. The innovator of simulation software and technologies was also a supplier to Alinghi for the successful 32nd America’s Cup.
