America’s Cup, Aleph annuncia la sua sfida e intanto cerca sponsor

America’s Cup – Parigi – A poche ore dall’annuncio della ricezione della quinta iscrizione alla Coppa America. L’America’s Cup Event Authority ha oggi reso noto che Aleph ha formalizzato la sua sfida ed è da considerarsi challenger ufficiale al pari di Mascalzone Latino Audi Team e Artemis. Un comunicato concluso da una frase che smorza il tono dell’annuncio, dato che “… il team sta lavorando seriamente per assicurarsi le coperture finanziare necessarie entro la fine di marzo 2011”.

E così, non senza sorpresa, Bertrand Pacé, che già da qualche mese fa ha iniziato una campagna per la ricerca fondi atta a finanziare una nuova sfida, pare vicino al ritorno in Coppa America e si appresta a farlo in grande stile. Grazie ad un accordo raggiunto con la Federazione Francese della Vela, infatti, Team Aleph, nato come Team French Spirit in occasione del Louis Vuitton Trophy Nizza, cambia nome in Aleph-Equipe de France: “Dopo le soddisfazioni ottenute dalla Squadra Olimpica Francese e dal French Match Racing Team – ha commentato il presidente della Federvela francese, Jean-Pierre Champion – abbiamo deciso di impegnarci in questa nuova sfida, con l’augurio e la speranza che l’esperienza ci regali nuovi successi”. Un riconoscimento ‘istituzionale’ che dovrebbe aiutare il sindacato del binomio Pacé-Gautier nella ricerca di fondi.

“Rappresentare una nazione è un grande privilegio, e rappresenta una ragione in più per puntare al top – ha sottolineato Bertrand Pacé – Proseguendo lungo il cammino tracciato teampo fa, Team Aleph continuerà a radunare i talenti della vela francese in un team che saprà esaltare le straordinarie doti di ognuno”.

[Aleph Press Release] Aleph, the challenge headed by Bertrand Pacé and Alain Gautier, has just taken a major step forward. The French campaign’s entry has been confirmed by the Golden Gate Yacht Club. Aleph is officially a challenger for the 34th America’s Cup. With the backing of the French Sailing Federation, the French challenger has taken on the official mantle of French Team for the 34th America’s Cup, and has been re-named Aleph-Equipe de France.

Jean-Pierre Champion, President of the French Sailing Federation: “It is very satisfying that this campaign which we support has been selected as an official challenger. It is an important step and we are delighted. The entry also means that we can add the title of Équipe de France, as we had promised. Following the French Olympic Sailing Team and the French Match Racing Team, this is the 3rd French Team, and we wish them as much success as the other two French teams”.

Aleph-Equipe de France is the fourth international team to become an official Challenger for the 34th America’s Cup. The team is hard at work to secure all financial partnerships before March 2011. The new format laid out by the organisation will deliver unprecedented media coverage for Aleph-Equipe de France sponsors.
